When listening to your music, I realize how simple and beautiful the world was back in the 70's ... Every time I am touching my ES335 it feels like a bit of your spirit is in it.

Alvin, I first listened to your music around 1967-68 at a lounge in Miami when I was on vacation. You and TYA were not yet appreciated or "big name" but I knew who you were before Woodstock. Some people call it back then "underground" but from the first time I heard your music I knew you were not just a guitar player, or as some people say good or "yeah I remember them from Woodstock and they WERE good". You were born an "Artist" and will be until the day you bow out of life. I was 17 at the time but I was raised in a very poor area but I was raised by parents who were richer than anybody else because they loved music (any kind) and raised us to appreciate the art of music and just to listen to music and art of a good musician brought you more happiness then anything money could buy. Being Italian of course Opera was first. Oh but how they rolled with the years...boogy, blues, birth of rock, acid rock etc up until rap and computer generated music took over. I feel sorry for people who think that is music or that it has soul and meaning. But you! You were to them after I played your album for them, and still to me one of the rare true Artists of music. You are not a musician or rock star or blues singer. You don't play music, you are music. You feel it not "play it" I love rock and have moved on with times I listen to Metalica, Guns and Roses, AC/DC and like it but to listen to you become your guitar and music makes me LOVE it. J. Hendr...s who, Er c Cl p ton...who. You are the BEST guitar player since the 60's until this day and until someone rare comes along and possibly is almost as good as you. I saw you down in Miami and came back to Chicago and saw you literally, bring down "the Colesium" during the Demo Natl Convention and then per posters, etc. at what we called "LB Johnson's UnBirthday Party" You did "I'm going home" for at least 1/2 hour, and the "Collie"sium was packed, tight "riot" security police all over outside and inside the place. 120 degrees in there but they would not let us open the large pane windows....but oh man that did not stop you. The "artist" played on for us, himself and the Art of guitar playing itself. And when I say you brought down the Colesium, You really did! Windows smashed open so we could breath and revive the people who passed out from the heat but then police (pigs back then) used every force possible to get us the F__k out of there. (and Master Lee played on) Man...the most memorable concert I have been to and still counting approx. 487 of them. Anyway sorry for rambling, and I have never written, emailed etc. any other musician in my entire rock life before.....why you ask....because NOBODY CAN COMPARE TO THE "GREATEST GUITAR ARTIST" in my history of rocking on and probably never will. I, to this day when I listen to your "art" am awed by the perfection and feeling you have "in being your guitar and master of the Art. Just wanted to make sure you never think anything else of music or ever believe the REMARKS of unfortunates (idiots) that say you were good. YOU WERE BORN TO PLAY AND PLAY THE BEST YOU DO, CONTINUE TO BE THE BEST AND to PEOPLE WHO KNOW MUSIC (ANY KIND) WILL BE THE ARTIST WHO REALLY MADE YOU FEEL WHAT HE FEELS EVERY TIME HE PERFORMS. Thank you for sharing yourself and making my ROCK LIFE the best any MONEY COULD BUY. Love you forever and ...........MAN YOU ARE THE BEST OF THE RARE FEW ARTISTS. Love, peace, etc etc.....Arlene ....bella, bella angel.

Two Ideas. First a Deluxe Edition of the Recorded Live album. Sure there are many recorded hours of the tour through Europe (Paris, Frankfurt, Amsterdam ecc.). We know from the set lists that Alvin was playing a lot of songs that did not appear on the Recorded Live Album. The Album had a good selling. A Recorded Live Deluxe Edition (2 or 3 cds like Allman Brothers, Who, Peter Frampton, Lynyrd Skynyrd ecc) could be a real good thing. Second a new live cd from the last UK tour. I hope there will be some recorded tapes. The new line up sounds so good and alvin has a live album with nearly every band he played in the past years. It is a must. Toni, again we need Your help. You are the only one, that makes everything possible. Please let us know, if we fans could also help, perhaps through Your website. Thank You. Rudi

Alvin Lee was Ten Years After. The band came to London for the Bluesfest and the only reason I did not go was because you were not in the band!A Space in Time is my all time favourite.Cannot get enough of that L.P.The Woodstock show was also very cool.Hope you will come to Canada one day.

Hi Alvin, yesterday evening I was in Salo Italy to see the show. I was there with my son. Now he is 18. Do You remember when he announced Your Concert at the castle in Brixen (9th May 1998). Yesterday my son and I were so proud and so happy to see You again. We were sitting in the second row on Your left. The night was great. Alvin, You are looking really relaxed and happy. We had the feeling, that You are really enjoing Your new band and Your new musical experience. For this my son and I are happy for and with You. The new versions of Love Like A Man and I m Going Home (with double bass) are amazing. The new songs are also fantastic in their live versions. And Your Humor... Slow Blues In See changed in No Flies On Me...For me and my son this was another night we will never forget. Alvin, thank You for everything. I hope to see You again soon. Rudi Rienzner

Hi, just visiting your site to find out if the U.S. fall tours and/or Canada tours have been posted as yet. My husband and I booked the Los Angeles concert for his 50th birthday. He has been a big fan and when the LA concerts were announced that was my chance to give him the "BEST" birthday present. The week before travelling from Toronto, Canada to LA we received notice that the concerts were cancelled. What a disappointment, especially for the birthday boy. We did go to LA for 3 1/2 days and enjoyed it but were very disappointed when we walked past THe Key Club. I will be checking often for any notice regarding the North American tour (hopefully including Toronto).

Just rented the 2-sided DVD of Woodstock, and accidentally put it in the tray on side 2, which launches straight into the Ten Years After set, with no preamble. Best unplanned start to a concert movie ever! Great playing! RGC

"Alvin Lee in Tennessee" is one best new albums I've heard in several years. Great cross selection between rock and roll and blues, and the execution is flawless. This album is worth the entire ride, from start to finish. I've been an Alvin Lee fan for 30 years as well and he just keeps better and better!

Hey Alvin: TYA was my favorite band while I was growing up in the Atlanta, Ga. area late 60's. I have to say that I'd Love To Change The World was and is my favorite rock song. Like the finest wine, that song gets better and better. In my life I have never heard any band cover that song and especially even begin to attempt that beyond amazing solo. True art lasts! Been looking at plenty of promo clips for Fahrenheit 9/11 and listing to A.Lee's soaring electric solo portion of I'D LOVE TO CHANGE THE WORLD. And decided to look at alvinlee.com for the first time in a couple of years. I always ask everyone around the tv or in the bar "Hey! Know who's playing that guitar????" when it comes on... Everyone gives me a blank stare, and then I ask ... "Did you ever see Woodstock... the band that closed the show???" Oh well, 34 years ago... People have such short memories. Anyone younger than 45 ... just blank stares. I was living in L.A. in 1968 and finishing up my first quarter at UCLA in June. The day finals were over, I looked in the Daily Bruin (the school paper) to see what was going on, and hey! Ten Years After was playing at the club at Pacific Ocean Park, a truly decrepit amusement park on a big pier south of Santa Monica -- which burned down in several fires (the installment plan of destruction) during the late 60s and early 70s. Undead must have been out, because I locked onto that immediately over the underground fm radio stations, and that's probably why I recognized the band name in the paper. I think the original Ten Years After album must have been out, but I wasn't as blown away with that, if I'd even heard it. But looking at the discography section a couple of years ago, Undead wasn't out long before TYA got off the plane in LA. But then again, the LA fm stations always had good stuff and played it before it was out. I think the club name is on the gigography, Leopard something... I went down there, although it wasn't quite my type of place. (I'd seen a couple of acts there, The Doors, and the place smelled, and wasn't pretty at all). And, this night the crowd was weird... TYA played some nice white boy blues stuff, Help Me, Spoonful, and the one where "... the last time I saw her she was lyin' on my knife" (Ewww! I know why that doesn't get much airplay... ) I forgot who was the main act. A blues player, Albert Lee? but I thought the lead act was a black guy. I forget, and probably didn't pay much attention to whoever was the opening act. And on several numbers I remember both Alvin and Leo Lyons just burning. Leo just did his aerobic rhythm bass thing and really impressed me. And Mr. Lee just worked the livin s**t out of that red guitar. Alvin Lee complained about jet lag, and as I recall all of the band was sunburned and appeared to be hurting. (English boys spending their first day of their whole lives in California 34degN latitude sun -- June sun). I guess this was one of the first gigs in the US, according to the gigography. Although I wasn't there on the first night. I think it was a Sunday night because it wasn't very crowded. A couple of weeks later I heard about their going to be at the Whisky a gogo, but I was working nights at LAX. I'd have been there if I wasn't. Then,,,, a couple of weeks later in the sports section of the LA Times, the surf guitar roadhouse in Huntington Beach (I finally remembered the name just before submitting this: THE GOLDEN BEAR) had their little 1inch x 2inch column advertisement, and it said TEN YEARS AFTER... I thought "Wow, but,,, what are they doing playing down there with that surf band crowd". I went down on a day off, but being only 18, not 21, as I recall, had to sit or stand in the back, and saw a pretty good show, albeit more laid back than the POP club show. (A buddy of mine from Seattle now lives in the condo complex where the Golden Bear was.. I thought I'd throw that in) Then, rather than return home to LA, I slept in the van and with the board and got out for some nice July surf at the Huntington Beach pier. (Good summer break with the southern exposure of the beach). At about noon, when the overcast broke, there over on the north side of the pier was the band! or three of them anyway. A few people approached them and chatted for a minute, as did I. By then they were tanned, and used to the sun. As I recall they said that they were staying those cockroach cabins just north of the Golden Bear a couple hundred feet... Not very pretty... I guess we weren't as picky in those days and at that age. I guess I brought a date or two there myself, otherwise I wouldn't have gotten acquainted with the cockroaches.. I've always wondered why they booked at the Golden Bear for a week -- it was mostly surf guitar, although they were departing from this type of music by 1968. But, looking at the the web-site I read that Bill Graham (Fillmore SF) brought the band over, and they played the old and new Fillmore sometime in June or July. The music business was in Hollywood, DECCA probably was there. And, Bill Graham knew that the Golden Bear was THE PLACE where flash guitar was understood and worshipped.. whatever genre of flash guitar... blues or surf, and even a couple of country pickers as I recall seeing on the marquee. Again, unfortunately, I was under-age to really be able to get a good seat. Saw Ten Years After at least a half dozen times from 68 through 75. One time was at some little club off the Harbor Freeway in Torrance, just a few months later. In the gigography I think it's called the Bank -- but I have no recollection of the name, just where it was. The best show was at the Shrine Exposition Hall in November 1969 I think (I can't get to the gigography without losing this composition). No, not the Shrine Auditorium, which was, and still is, around the corner, and I saw them there in 1974. This Shrine Exposition hall was a convention or trade show hall, all wood, about 300 feet long and 60 feet wide, and with an upper balcony that ran the whole perimeter, about 20feet wide -- a great place to hang over the rail and that's where I was with the gf. No seats anywhere, everyone sat on the floor in the middle or stood on the sides or on the balcony. This show was kind of like the Fillmore in that there were multiple acts, and they all played two sets. This show had four acts, which according to my 53 year old memory, were as follows: SANTANA: Not many people had heard of them at the time, I don't think, but maybe I'm wrong. I had heard them in San Francisco, and thought they were were local to the Bay area. MOODY BLUES: (or maybe PROCUL HAREM). These guys were the over-the hill act. I liked both bands but, not to the extent that I remembered which one did what material, e.g. I can't recall which was the one on the show -- but I'm pretty sure it was one of them. TEN YEARS AFTER: They were totally in their element at this venue, lot's of hippy type kids, plenty of smoke in the room of the fun type, and, I think good acoustics. The place was all wood, so not much sound bouncing all over, which was unlike the Shrine Auditorium around the corner. JEFF BECK (WITH ROD STEWART): The headliners, although I wonder if most people went to see them. My gf went to this circus only to see him as I recall. Beck played his numbers, and, as I recall, made vocalist Rod Stewart stand behind him -- although maybe Rod was just being deferential to Jeff. Anyway, four groups, two shows each, starting at about 7pm and finishing up at 2 or 3in the morning. One of the best nights I've had.. I saw a couple of arena shows at the Forum, always a bunch of bottle throwing rowdies all over the parking lot. The last TYA show I saw was the one in Long Beach in 1975, the farewell tour. I'm pretty sure Aerosmith led this one off. I'd only heard about them at the time. The last time I saw Alvin Lee was in Renton WA and another place the next night in Seattle, in 1994. He had a lot of company of course, but I would have liked to have gone over some of those old shows. Anyway, I'm not hearing I'D LOVE TO CHANGE THE WORLD, like I used to... And I'd think that with the Fahrenheit 9/11 it would get some more play on the classic r&;r stations. Did somebody complain about the "dykes and ferries" mentioned. If so that's silly, like the times we live in I guess.

I recently bought a copy of the "Undead" CD. I have an original LP, but hadn't listened to it for awhile. Wow! I had forgotten how good it was until I heard the CD again. Alvin should be in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Hope he comes to Northern California sometime. I saw Ten Years After at the Santa Clara County Fairgrounds in about 1970 or 1971. I'd like to see Alvin again! Come out to San Francisco! Play in one of the BB King Blues Festival tours!

I just purchased Alvin Lee In Tennessee and MAN! What a groove! Ten Years After was the first band I ever saw live. A very intimate setting in 1969 at a small summer resort in upstate New York. Must have been a warm-up gig for the upcoming Woodstock festival. You gentlemen blew away this 13 year old boy, who shortly after that picked up the bass guitar. A couple of years ago I bought an upright bass and have been focusing on my country and rockabilly roots and this new disc is astounding! Brilliant playing all around. Best wishes to all.

Dear Alvin: Man alive, you are a part of a very small group of guitarist with whom I have the utmost respect. The innovation and premonition of hyour playing style and delivery has kept me a happy camper for so many years. I am saddened that some of the other greats are no longer around to collaborate with. You can find guitarist anywhere, but true greatness is a rarity. We are 110% behind you. Carry on. -ccjr

Alvin, flashback to 1968.I was a young guitarist in high school and you were my guitar hero,my big influence.Undead helped steer me to Jazz .I slowed down the record to 16 speed and copped all the runs.I put a peace symbol on my SG.I saw you at Central Park,Randalls Island and the Fillmore East.Back to the present...I'm a professional guitarist with a very impressive resume, much studio work and two CD's with my own Latin Jazz group IGUAZU.I also have a blues band and I'm starting a Rockabilly project. So when I heard about "In Tennessee" I was fascinated.I just got it yesterday and....I LOVE IT!!! I am back in Alvin Lee mode after 35 years! I know if you heard me play you would be proud that you helped shape my musical life and I hope someday we'll meet and maybe jam the way you got to meet your mentor and hero, Scatty Moore. The CD is superb. Thanks for everything, Alvin,Rick howard

Okay Alvin,I see the dates for the West Coast, but what about your kick ass fans on the East Coast??New York & New Jersey. I last saw you in N.Y. when John was working with you went to the sound check. My friend was the tour manager for Johnny Winter at the time,we had to pick him and his wife up and bring them to the show.Have met you QUITE a few times in the 80's,John always put me on the guest list.Do you ever answer any of your e-mails? I'm sure New York and New Jersey are feeling left out, aren't we?? Have your management give us a little insight.Since I work for the Governor of New Jersey, I'm sure he would welcome you.You can tell I'm in politics, right to the point. Hope to See You Soon, DAWN

Alvin, saw you last night in Brighton and loved every minute. There is something wonderful about your guitar playing, you can just feel the excitement from the very first note. First saw you in Birmingham Town Hall in 1971 and then Night of the Guitars in Hammersmith Odeon 1989. That evening when some of the greatest guitarists in the world were playing (Leslie West, Randy California, etc you were easily the best). So why haven't you been on Jools Holland yet it's an injustice to your career and sheer ability. The freshened up version of 'I'm Going Home' was superb. We're all getting on a bit, don't put your feet up though someone has to put the boy bands in their place. P.S I was in the third row back and will make it to first next time.

I have 14 years and in 2003 I saw you in a Woodstock DVD with you playing "going home". Now it's my favourite music and I trie everyday play "going home" reading the tablature in your site. It's very hard for me because I started to play guitar 2 years ago and your speed is unbelievable with that sound clear.

Alvin, like so many, I have long been a fan since you tore up the movie Woodstock and stole the whole show, watermelon and all. I soon realized there was so much more to Mister Lee than Goin' Home, even though that was enough to inspire thousands of guitarslingers. I immediately had to have a red 345 myself, even though I now concentrate more on national steels, delta slide blues and Broonzy style fingerpicking. After all, I figured I could never get close to approaching those killer jazz tinged lines you play. My favorite all-time album is Cricklewood Green but like all fans I probably have to say I had a hard time choosing between Ssh, Watt, and A Space in Time. I once saw TYA with Cactus opening. That was a cosmic mindblow! Your tasteful jazz lines and multi-layers of totally refreshing chord voicings truly changed rock and roll forever. On the other hand, I'd Love to Change the World is still amazing in its simplicity, theme and arrangement. Also, In Flight and On the Road to Freedom were such cool departures from all the beautiful TYA offerings (the raucous romps or the spacesongs). You did it best and You are Ten Years After!!!You always pay homage to your heroes while establishing your own realm. The new cd Alvin Lee in Nashville is very welcome after such a long wait. It's great to hear rock and roll played the way it was intended. And you said it. Scotty is truly THE reason that rockers like Too Much and Lawdy Miss Clawdy still hold up today play after play. Not to diminish Elvis' importance, but the king was truly blessed to have fell in with such a gifted player with so much to say in a solo. Ol' Sam musta known something 'bout that mess after all. Anyway, if you ever read this, I'd like to see you do an all instrumental album someday with cool old jazz things, tributes, and some of your personal favorites. I got really excited when I heard you moved to Spain wondering what would happen if Alvin started moving the blues in flamenco style. I guess we'll have to wait and see. Like to see you in Memphis sometime. I got some tunes I'd like to show you, if I could ever quit shakin' in the presence of a guitar master. Peace, my friend and stay well.

Alvin, you can't imagine how long I've been waiting for an album like "In Tennessee" to come out and I 'm so glad it came from you.You are the only rock musician who hasn't forgotten how to play rock'n'roll.I really must have played this CD about 10 times in the 2 days I've had it.If your in Germany how about asking Axel Zwingenberger if he would like to cut a boogie woogie blues album . His piano and your guitar would just be incredible together. And thanks again for keepin' it rockin'. Let's face it us americans forgot how to play the music we invented!

Tony Mcvee sets the tone for the evening with some brilliant guitar work, Edgar Winter warms the heart, gives the sort of internal massage to the soul that is needed to prepare us poor mortals for what is to come............. Nine year wait was worth every second for those performances in Edinburgh and Glasgow, Alvin. The buzz of anticipation in the bar in Glasgow at the interval before you came on was special. The audiences were really up for it, and everybody left raving about your performances. The memories of both nights will live with all who were there forever, and be talked about for years to come. Many, many thanks for EVERYTHING. I'll do a review for the board, but the ignition can't fire until the adrenalin level drops. Alan and Rosie.

Alvin, saw you with TYA in '74' for the Positive Vibrations Tour in LA. Saw you again with TYA in '75' for the final tour of that decade in LongBeach. Saw you again in Long Beach with the 'DARE' tour. Again with TYL in ULM Germany in '78' at a large outdoor fest and again in the early '80's' in a tiny place, you might remember, called the Golden Bear, in Huntington Beach California. I got your autograph that night (it's still my prized possesion). Have tickets to see you at the Galaxy Theater (with The Blasters) on June 19th. I'm bringing my father for fathers day (he's 70) and a big fan of yours and Elvis. Rock On Rock'n Brother, your the best to have ever graced the stage.

Hello, I traveled from the United States to see Alvin Lee perform at the Liverpol Philharmonic in Liverpool, England on May 2, 2004. It was an incredible show, to say the least. I was one of many people that met Mr. Lee, received autographs and was treated with an unbelievable amount of courtesy! Mr. Lee invited me up to his dressing room while he was tuning his guitar. We chatted briefly and I learned more about him. He obviously had better things to do than chat with a dumb "Yank"......However, he obliged my requests! What an tremendous experience it was! If you all get a chance to see one of the greatest performers ever to grace any stage, no matter when and where it may be-------PLEASE TAKE FULL ADVANTAGE OF IT!!!!!!!! It is well worth your time!!!! Alvin Lee is the greatest!!!!!!!! Extremely happy and satisfied Alvin Lee fan, Johnny Hudson

This is my 2nd message in 3 days! This is To anyone who. like me, last saw TYA in the 70's (30 yrs ago, blimey!!). Make sure you go and see him on this tour. Although some of his music is different - obviously really, he has just evolved his style and got better - but dont worry it is still the same, different but the same! and once you have seen him you will undestand what I mean. The hairs on the back of my neck went up when i heard him play the first notes of 'Love Like a Man', it was even better than I remembered, and 'Slow Blues in 'C' is just superb, with brilliant soulful, blues guitar. And of course 'Going Home', everything was brilliant. Thanks for a great show Alvin, and lets not forget his drummer and bass player, who much to my shame, I have forgoten there names, - are amazing, really tight, so talented and Alvin and the bass gutarist work so well together - a fitting band for a Living Legend !! Finally Edgar Winter is good too, a really talented guy with a Slick 'American type' Rock Band. Tony McPhee's 3 or 4 songs are, short and sweet, angry and soulful, and watch for the way he slides his thumb down the top bass string while playing - gives a great additional sound to his 'angry, hard blues'. PS Alvin, I've got £67.45 saved up, is that enough to get you down to Swindon for a night, to play in my local Rock Pub? Free drinks all night as well, and a Chinese Take away afterwards!

Alvin, I've now seen three of your shows this tour - top notch every one. I'm thrilled with how much more sophisticated your playing has become over the years, loved the new songs but very happy to hear the old TYA classics as well. Edgar Winter was also a delight, I really didn't know him before this. I have tickets for two more gigs, its just impossible to stay away knowing you're anywhere near. Thanks for the music.

Wnt and saw the concert in Reading, May 12. Amazing !! I have always liked TYA and Alvin since the 70's, and last saw them live in 71. Alvin Lee is one of the very few guys who's live performances are just soooooo much better than the CD version. Out of this world. Amazing energetic raunchy traditional Rock and Roll, footstomping Boggie Music, Fantastic Soulful powerful Blues, wonderful accoustic Guitar numbers (Loved the tribute to George, great touch). Forget Eric Clapton, Alvin Lee is the all time great (and so underated and ignored) Rock guitarist of all time. Make sure you go and see him!!

Not one to compare bands but I've had the unique experience of seeing both you and TYA this past week. I must say that while I greatly enjoyed the new TYA, there is no one or nothing that can compare to you Alvin. Still the greatest guitarist and showman I've ever seen. The acoustic set was brilliant, the songs from In Tennessee were all stand outs, and if I had to compare the TYA songs I'd just say you own them. Brilliant. You're still the very best!

Hey Alvin, I was just looking at the equipment spec on the website and just wondering what guitars you use for a spare? Does your bass player use a spectre or is that a warwick? By the way that woodstock gig was one of the best gigs i have ever seen..Do you use blues scales exclusivley or can i hear certain modal scales in your playing as well? Looking forward to the gig in Liverpool next week

Dear Alvin, Can't wait to see you this Sunday in Liverpool, will be sat 6 rows from the front so hopefully will have a good view of that beautiful face of yours! Last time I saw you play was at the Liverpool Stadium (remember the girl with the blue lipstick?) well that's not me but you, my friend and I had a good laugh about her as we entertained you before the gig!! Good Luck Alvin on this tour and, despite my vastly approaching 50 (aaaaaaaahh),I'm feeling really excited in seeing you perform again. Long Live Rock 'n' Roll. xxxx

Hi Alvin. I'm Rudi Rienzner. Do you remember your concert on 09.05.1998 at the castle in Bressanone. It was the greatest day in my life. I'm Your fan since I started collecting cassettes, lp's and cd's. Now i own about 5000 cd's and 2000 lp,s. The greatest albums in my collection are yours. In my childhood You were "my best friend". First came You, then all other musicians. I grew up with Cricklewood Green, Watt, Rock'n Roll Music to the world and Recorded Live (both my favourites), On The Road To freedom, In Flight, and Pump Iron. I will be honest, Your albums up from the late seventies don't impressed me much. But a few days ago I started listening (I preordered it 1 month ago) "In Tennesee". I felt like 30 years ago (now I'm 46). This deep feeling is back. Your feeling is back. The music, the lyrics, Your vocals!!, the songs: everything is back. As You say, I feel like I'm 15. Thank You Alvin, You are "my best friend" again. Rudi Rienzner

Just got my copy of "Tennessee". I just listened to it straight threw twice so I am a little shaky from hearing one of the purest and joyfull albums ever made. WOW. UK order here --> in stock Pre-Order in the U.S. here However high my expectations were, they were "lapped". "Tennessee" is flippin magnificent. I'm afraid to touch my CD because of the heat come out of it from that energy, love, happiness and pure joy inside of it. I know Alvin, you can't be too upset about the stench of the "Four on the Floor" to produce music that is so unbelievably upbeat and pure. Every piece of this CD is incredible from the musicianship, the band and the great production and Alvin sounding and playing at least as good as he ever has. I felt that you took an genre, put your magic touch to it and made the genre a little bit wider than it ever was before. Just Inspired and fantastic. What a band to play with, sounds like they have played all their lives toghether. Just perfect together, NO BULLS&^$. This mother is ABOUT THE MUSIC. I do have to say that the band was flippin incredible, but Willie Pritchard on piano, you and him sounded like "peanut and butter", "milk and cookies". Fantastic. If Alvin you did not publish that amazing version of "Goin Home", you should have been arrested for carrying a concealed weapon. For now, the best CD of the century. Could there be a better time for this CD to come out ? Bless you and thank you for the CD !!

Shhhh. One of my favorite albums that they nevr play on the radio. They do not have copies of your albums at any NY radio station ( Q104.3) The only songs they know are "I'm Going Home" and "I'd Love to Change the World". With the recent Passing of George Harrison I expected to at least hear your name mentioned as a collaborator. Anyone remember Harri Georgeson? I have seen you perform in every NY area venue (MSG, Galec Park, Academy of Music)and look forward to your new album with Scotty Moore and hopefully a US tour. Jim Smith

Slow Down! Just like one of the great tunes Alvin's played! It's Ok if he sits when he plays his guitar:] And it's really OK! if his old bandmates want to play under Tens Years After. I'm pretty certain that Alvin's fans know the difference and can differenciate. What a compliment to him and his acheivements that his old bandmates and this new lead would pay such amage (sp). "Let it Go" Tens Years After is not Alvin Lee just like a child is not their parent. But attempt to carry on something special. The anamosity is distracting what really counts and that is the music. Whether it's composed and played by Alvin, "The Greatest" (not to take anything from Ali:])or by any other musician. Music should be presented for what it is.... With that said, Keep a Rockin' All the time... KCB

Hello, I wonder if you could help me? I am a semi retired professional photographer and lecturer, sadly I had to take early retirement due to disability. I am a big fan of yourself and Tony McPhee and I am hoping to attend your gig in Sheffield in May. I enjoy concert photography which I now do mainly for pleasure and I have photographed Tony McPhee many times when in appeared in the South Yorkshire area over the years. I wondered if it would be possible for me to obtain permission to photograph yourself, Tony McPhee and Edgar Winter at the Sheffield City Hall concert, if it would be possible I wondered if you could point me in the right direction for who I would need to contact to obtain this permission? If you could help I would be most grateful and of course you would be welcome to copies of my photographs for your own personal use, free of charge. Kindest Regards Gerald ( Sables)

This is a letter only for Mr. Alvin Lee (a love-letter to your music) First I have to thank you for YOUR music through all those years in my life. Now, in the age of 47 I ever love these music and tghe music of TYA. Therefore I only want to thank you. I can say it to you like "John Miles"..in this world of trouble, YOUR music was me true... I often remember some situations, I don´t feel good in my life, then I heard songs like "think about the times" or "going home" and the world looks better at once! Therefore I write you these letter, that you and your music of TYA often was the best music and the best friend in my life. When you are playing your guitar, for me it´s a feeling, like you speak to me without a word and I can feel not so alone. And that, I think, it´is really the Blues ! So, thank your for your Blues and your Rock´n´Roll Michael from Germany

Alvin, I am dying to hear your new album !! I know it will be the best of 2004 and among your best work, if not youor best. I would like to ask you to please, please have your tour recorded and release a DVD. There certainly are not enough quality recordings of you that are out and it would be so great to do for the fans who can't make it as well as the fans who can make it to one of your concerts. Especially know it appears that directors of concerts have got it together about filimg the audio and video of a concert. I thought the Harrison tribute was an example of great execution by the videomakers. I sure wish you were in it, the best I have ever heard George play, was with albums with you, especially, my favorite, The Bluest Blues. I hope you can consider my request, it would be great to have available for all of us !! Great luck on your tour and the new album. I know it aill be great. PS. Amazon is taking preorders for the album RIGHT NOW !!

Yo, Listened to all your riffs since I was a young lad of 14 in the mid sixties. Saw you play in Boston many times. Studied Classical Guitar since I was 6 years old. Despite all the swing and gospel and rock I played throughout my life I love Jazz. Your riffing is just awesome when put in a jazz medium. I think the jazz/blues idiom has alot more to offer than the so called experts think. We are on the verge of a musical explosion that will transend musical notation. Ha let them try and keep up. Keep on keppin on. Once there was a time, when I was home...............

I know it is going to be your best work ever and will be a smash. Let Toni put a teaser or two out on the web, me and a lot of others are getting crazy that it is coming soon. I CAN'T until you tour the states, I'm sure it will happen and I need to take my son Josh and see you perform together. The last time I saw you perform live, was allllll the way back on the Saturday night late show at the Fillmore East, from the weekend when you made that amazing CD. AHHHHHHHHHHHH I know you are Rockin On, but we want to rock on too. Best of luck on your new album, it will be a smash. Jon Temple

Hey Alvin! The new CD Alvin Lee in Tennesee sounds like it's going to be a great one. How about taking that Tennesee music on a tour through the USA. It would be great to include Minneapolis and/or St. Paul,Minnesota. We have some great venues here that have recently hosted some other musical greats. The Who,Tom Petty and Bob Dylan were all @ the Excel Energey Center,St.Paul, MN, John Fogarty and Sting were @ the Northrup Auditorium,University of Minnesota Campus, Mark Knofler was @ the Orpheum Theatre Minneapolis,MN and Chris Isaak was @ the State Theatre Minneapolis, MN. There is also the Ordway Theatre, in St. Paul,MN, where I seen Woody Herman before his passing. All have great acoustics. Was looking forward to seeing on your "About Time" tour that was cut short just before your Minnesota stop. Keep a rockin', all the time! Regards, Kevin

Dear Alvin - I had the fortune to see the concert you gave in Stockholm back in 1917, I believe it was. A darn good show - the best. Kids today don't know what they have missed - ha! So, young man - when will you bring your speedy accordion and come to play again for us Swedish fans? There's only a few of us left now, and I'm the youngest at the age of 149, so you better hurry up.. :)

Great news about the tour. It appears as if Alvin is touring with just drums and double bass.Does this mean the music will be limited to rock and roll,as on the new album.Or will all the old classics be played as well. Just wondering,as playing 'schoolgirl','I'm going home'etc on double bass would be the first time this has been done to my knowledge.

The critics have amazing omissions historically. Two of my all time favorites and their great bands are almost always universally overlooked as if they contributed nothing or never lived and played at all; Alvin Lee and Mark Farner!! Both of these gentleman have proved their metal through the test of time, and surpassed the longevity of those who criticized them. Real fans know real greatness! To HELL with the critics!!!

Hello Alvin How are you today. Greetings from Coimbatore Tamil Nadu India. Wow I am unsure if any person alive or dead from my coutry ever had the pleasure of signing your guestbook. How am wishing am number one on that list! Please accept my belated sympathies for your mom's passing away earlier on. She is your guiding angel now and is all around you. She loves you foreverlasting. I am a 28-year-old business man blessed with good pair of ears for soul stirring music. I listened to "Bluest Blues" just 2 days ago for the first time and must say it is a TIMELESS MASTERPIECE ! Your inimitable vocals and guitar virtuoso my GOD !!!! One of a kind ! I used to be nuts about American country music back in the 80s as i grew up listening to it...then followed southern rock, folk, surf and slow rock until a friend of mine introduced me to late 60s woodstock music...Eric Clapton's BluesRock etc in the summer of 1998....I almost instantly fell for the guitar works and have since been a diehard Blues/Rock fan and haven't slowed down one bit from exploring the BluesRock genre. Even though I discovered TYA on the net about a year or so ago, I could never find any of your albums around here in my country Bummer ! I had to resort to downloading Bluest Blues from one of the download sites( I am being honest here...don't blame me I just am geographically challenged folks...it really sucks sitting here half a world away with zero TYA music on the stands around here.. so am hoping u'll forgive me) after reading the rave reviews online and listening to Bluest Blues now am ur biggest long-distance fan Alvin !!!! You are God-Send to us fans across this wide world. Though it sure took me a long long time to get to listen to your wonderful litling blues music am not the one who's complaining as i consider myself very fortunate to have had the pleasure of listening to your soulful compositions fill my heart and soul. I recently broke up with my girlfriend and ur song seems like the panacea that would help kill all the hurting I feel deep inside...THANK YOU ALVIN. I know I may never get you see you perform live but I will stay happy and proud just when i realize that I am living at least in the same time frame as urself ==> A TRUE LIVING LEGEND! But am happy for all the fortunate crowd who are blessed to see you perform live right where they live. I hope and pray for a miracle so I can meet you in real life someday. I've been dying to say this and i will now before it blows my head to smithereens lol >>>>>> The enchanting sounds that your lightining fast and dextrous fingers can bring out of a Guitar is Mindboggling and plain Unbelievable !!! I am so excited and can't wait to introduce my friends here to The magical genius who ever picked up an electric guitar to deliver the goods impeccably!!! There is no one like you Alvin and as the saying goes...THE REST IS HISTORY !!!! You are welcome to India may i ask you to take a holiday to this great land of history and mystique-ridden spirituality and tradition. I am confident you won't ever regret it...You know your friend George Harrison wasn't... wink ! I want to Thank you on behalf of every single fan of yours old or young and the ones who are yet to be introduced to your timeless masterpieces and again for all the happiness and joy you bring into our lives. Promise i'll have my grandchildren listen to your music man !! Big bear Hugs to you >:D< May you & your loved ones continue to only get life's very best and nothing less simply cos you deserve that and more. Plain Luv ya man you are the Greatest ! Have a great great year ahead and GoodLuck to you always. Al would you write a line or two to me someday please it would mean the world to me. Take care and keep smiling. Your Biggest Long-Distance Fan :)

It all started with Undead, then Stonehenge blew me away. SSSH was OK, but Cricklewood Green was fantastic! Watt was dark for me, and Space in Time, I believe, is the best I've ever heard. Havent really listened to anything of Alvin Lee since. BUT, I play on my guitar and ALWAYS do something of his as wildly as possible, 'cus He's the best.

As one old codger to another, I had the privlege to witness the pre woodstock TYA on a cold rainy night at the Fillmore West. A sick (had a bad cold)Alvin took the stage and tore the place up. Spider in my Web, Spoonful, and of course Goin home (shorter version) all played on a gold Les paul. Why don't we ever see any of those pictures. Though Spider was my favorite, i enjoyed the dexterity on Wood choppers ball. Anyone else remember those days?

HI Mr. Lee! I loved your music back in the "old days" of 1969 I was 15 and loving all the rock music of that era!!! I was was always amazed how fast your fingers moved on on the guitar and you seemed to have an endless abundance of energy...I wasn't sure you were still making music! I would love to see you play if you're in the Wash. D.C. circuit. I never saw you perform live when I was younger but I am glad you are alive , well and still playing your guitar!

Alvin, I was just thinking about you and wondering what you have been up to . I was your guitar tech when you toured the U.S.A. with Nine Below Zero in 94 or 95. I still tell everybody what a pleasure it was to work for you and what a talented musician you are. I am working with a guitar player named Tracy Conover from Austin, TX. She is also a great person to work with and very talented. I would love to know what happen to Dennis Greaves(Spelling?) the guitar player for Nine Below Zero, he has to be one of the funniest guys I ever worked for. I hope you come to Texas soon I would love to see you. I will find a gig for you here in Houston if you come this way. Thanks Chris Bynum
