In 1997, enticed
by the opportunity to play a major Scandinavian festival, the original
members of Ten Years After "tested the waters" to see if they enjoyed playing
together again.
Wednesday, May 21,1997... Ten Years After played a rousing, triumphant concert in front of a sold-out audience last night in Sao Paulo Brazil. The high energy show included long-time favorites "Hear Me Calling", "Good Morning Little Schoolgirl", Slow Blues in 'C'", "Help Me", and an audience sing-along of "Johnny B. Goode". Of course, the show ended with Alvin Lee's tour-de-force, "I'm Going Home" and the band encored with "Choo Choo Mama" and "Sweet Little Sixteen" Friday, May
23, 1997...Porto Alegre, Brazil is home to the next TYA performance, and
reports continue to be glowing. The press actively pursues the band and
"hits" to the Alvin Lee web site grow to 6,000 per day.
Saturday, May
24, 1967...Concert #3 of this brief foray into Brazil may be the best one
yet, as nearly 3,000 fans in Belo Horizonte refused to let the band leave
the stage, bringing them for for three encores.

May 31, 1997 The Esbjerg Rockfestival, Esbjerg, Denmark... Ten Years After took the stage to an enthusiastic crowd of 12,000 at this festival that also featured Peter Green , Bachman Turner Overdrive and Ritchie Blackmore's Rainbow. The set list for this dynamic show:

- Helsinki Finland... The Magic Continues! 10,000 lucky fans got to see
and hear TYA perform their classics in a concert termed by tour manager
John Hembrow as their "best ever". The lengthy, enthusiastic standing
ovation the band received would seem to bear that out!
