comments=Great Web Site! I've been a TYA and Alvin Lee fan since 1970. I saw TYA in 1972 in St.Louis, Missouri. It was an "Incredible" show, I had front row center seats.I was taking pictures with a very cheap camera, but most of the pictures did turn out (I still have the pictures). I had Alvin autograph one of them a few years ago. I also saw the Alvin Lee & Co.show in San Diego (another Great show). I saw Alvin Lee at
the Coach House (both nights) in San Diego.

comments=Hey ALL!! Where is everyone I fugured once Bethel was announced people would be all a buzz..it seems quiet. Ok..who is going to Bethel? A big mystery for me is where are the tens of thousands I used to be with at Boston Garden,Sprigfield Civic Ctr., prov. Civic Ctr. all the radio spots..Alvin playing acoustic Beatles on WBCN in Boston right before a Garedn gig. How about back to back nights at the music zhall when they tore the roof off the place. How about when Balck Sheep opened for them, {Lou Grahmms} 1st real band and they like veryone else got smoked by TYA. Aren't you all waiting to see the boys tear up the stage in Bethel..Lets go folks..They are back, we should be back in force as well. I challenge you all to go to Bethel!!..Rock On' ..John

comments=OK, i'll take up some more space in the ol' guestbook.  I just got to reading the "Hall Of Fame" related comments.  Hell yes, TYA MUST receive the proper recognition that they deserve.  Talk about overlooked, under-rated, passed over, sheesh!  It's absolutely maddening!  Anyhow, fellow TYA fans, let's get the word out - make this 1998 tour the one that finally does it - for good.  Really, I do feel sorry for people who haven't listened to Ten Years After's best stuff.  Oh yeah, one final, selfish, personnal note - Hey Ten Years After, come play in Hawaii!  The weather's great!  LOVE YA!

rich fiser <spook7@marshallnet.com> -- 06/05/98 -- 19:39:58

Wow, don't know what to say. Your music is fantastic. I especially like Shhhh. Maybe it is because of what you put in the liner notes. You said that you finally were getting to make an album for yourself instead of everyone else Well in the process you did a pretty good job of satisfying me.

Peter Haswell <peter@sysgrove.demon.co.uk> -- 06/04/98 -- 08:03:04

I used to watch the Jaybirds at the YMCA in Nottingham when Alvin must have been about 17/18 years old. They played for years with no recognition....and then one day I went to see Woodstock and there he was!! If you read this Alvin...remember Richard(Rock) Wheatley ....he was second only to you in the early sixties in Nottingham...he still plays for fun! Guess what! my kids go to your old school in Bramcote! Hope to see you next time you play in UK Regards

Ed Betz <Egbetz@juno.com> -- 06/03/98 -- 19:13:36

I'm 52 yrs old, have seen Alvin/TenYrs. After many times throughout the years.I've can remember seeing him at a distance in Boston Garden, Mass. looking down at them. The last time I saw him I don't think anyone could of been closer, what a thrill for me. I have older boy's now that I took to see him in a club in Seattle where I live now. they were 28 and 27 yrs. old then... We had the best seats in the house, up on stage sitting on bar stools about 15 feet away. This was something my boy's will remember the rest of their lives and tell their children someday. What an experience.......To show them the best there is, live and so close..He is the best.........Can't wait to see him back with TYA.........I'll go anywhere to see them, hopefully close to Seattle........

I'VE BEEN A TEN YEARS AFTER FAN SINCE HIGHSCHOOL '79, AND AM STILL ENERGIZED BY ALVIN LEE'S AWESOME GUITAR RIFFS. I LOVE HIS ACOUSTIC PLAYING AS WELL AS HIS ELECTRIC PYROTECHNICS. LET ME WHEN TYA RETURNS TO THE BAYOU CITY.

Klaus Ramoser <kramoser@david-gmbh.de> -- 05/15/98 -- 06:54:38

Hi fans, I would like to communicate, that Alvin on 9th of May 98 was playing in Brixen/Bressanone (North-Italy). It was a privat concert for Rudi Rienzner (a big fan of Alvin) with about 200 friends of him for the 40th birthday of Rudi.It was a beautiful concert with all the best songs of Alvin. I had personally the pleasure to drive Alvin and the rest of the band from the Munich Airport to Brixen and back. Keep on rockin` and good luck (Klaus )

Accarrino Agostino <agostino.accarino@learncnt.it> -- 05/11/98 -- 11:48:20

I'm vocalist of a Italien Rock and Blues Band (Spolpo Blues Band). Saturday 05/08/1998 with my band, we have made support to Alvin Lee in his only Concert in Bressanone-Bolzano Italy. Alvin Lee has been on Stage with Steve Gould on Bass, Alan Young on Drums. I have many pictures of this great event.

steve <tya71@bellatlantic.net> -- 05/01/98 -- 13:46:25

By any chance, did anyone see the Isle of Wight video. They butchered TYA's [and Rory Gallagher's] act. I remember the original I. of W. album and it was anywhere between 15 and 20 minutes. No longer have the album. Was in the early 70's. Even the CD is butchered. The movie shows only 4 1/2 min. Oh well. Rock On!

steve <tya71@bellatlantic.net> -- 04/30/98 -- 07:19:51

I first heard TYA in 1969[I was 14 then] and the first time I saw them was at The Filmore East on April 20, 1971.[I still got the ticket stub. The last time I saw Alvin was 1994 at a small joint in New Jersey called Club Bene. That's where a lot of yesteryear guitar greats play. A few of who I saw: Rory Gallagher[hi Judi~], Robin Trower, Johnny Winter, Leslie West etc...Anyway back to one of if not the best guitar players around,Mr. A. LEE . When I saw him at Club Bene, after the show a bunch of us hung around outside for about a half hour or so and rapped with him. I even got him to sign two autographs for me. One on a piece of paper and another on one of his shirts I bought[Am I suppose to still act that way at 39 yrs old in 94.F---ing "A" I am.] There is one thing that bummed me out was, I never heard him play "Spider In My Web" or "Me And My Baby". Oh well. Anyway, A.Lee,Rory G. and SRV thanks for the memories. ROCK ON!!!

Gary Bear <BeachBlues@AOL.COM> -- 04/29/98 -- 12:12:11

Joe bronstein <brony61@aol.com> -- 04/25/98 -- 22:00:37

I first saw Alvin in NJ at Upsulla college in 1979.I've seen him over twenty times ,but the best concert was in Philly when Alvin and Mick Taylor blew away Black Sabbath in the eighties(when Dio was in Sabbath).

Ran <ran@mindless.com> -- 04/25/98 -- 13:59:09

I was interduced to Alvin's divine guitar playing when I watched the Woodstock video - it left me stunned!! Soon I got the "Pure Blues" album and it was even better... I'd like to recieve recomendations from all of you Alvin Lee/Ten Years After fans on which album I should get next. Thanks Ran. album I should get next

Frank DeChino <pasta48@aol.com> -- 04/23/98 -- 19:37:26

Dear Mr. Alvin Lee, I've been a fan since Filmore East circa 1968. I have enjoyed you at least thirty times in concert. The last time I saw you was on your About Time tour in NYC. I used to wait at the Filmore East when the show was over. You guys always came out and got in the limo, and we waited to try to talk to you. But when you came out and we saw you, I was star struck; when I opened my mouth, nothing came out. I saw you again at the airport in Canada after the Strawberry Fields Festival and still couldn't talk! Your voice has gotten deeper over the years; you sound better than ever. When you and the band are in the NY/NJ area, contact me. We'll make you dinner and serve your preferred libation. I just hit 50 in March and I hope the last voice I hear is yours. Love ya'. Keep up the good work. Sincerely, Frank L. DeChino.

Frank DeChino <pasta48@aol.com> -- 04/21/98 -- 20:12:32

Alvin, I saw you in 1968 at the Filmore East. It was an English concert with John Mayall. I have been a fan since then. I saw you at the Filmore West, I saw you in NY in around 1990 in the About Time tour. I've seen you about thirty times. I look forward to seeing you again. If you're ever in the NJ area, email me and you and the boys can come over for dinner and a beer or two or three. Maybe we'll have a spot of tea. Your voice has gotten deeper; it sounds great. Keep up the good work. Love ya', Frank.

Chris <catamaran77@yahoo.com> -- 04/20/98 -- 19:23:47

Dude, I'm 21, I just heard your music today. You Rock. If you come to the NY NJ area I'll see you. Please E-mail me. C

You are an incredable gutarist. I love your old albums. Liked your show at the Isle of Wrigth Festival-----the coolest show ever. I was so gone on ANGELDUST at that moment, and it was the greatest show EVER--thanks

Benny Pitz <None> -- 04/13/98 -- 10:47:07

You Rock Man! Smokin' A J On the 50 yardline listening to Ten Years After.

David Naylor <oicu812@junction.net> -- 04/07/98 -- 15:50:50

Since I couldn't seem to login to your survey site I'll cast my vote here...my answer to you and your band Ten Years After being voted into the rock hall of fame is an unequivacle YES!!! Having grown up with your music, it's of my opinion that you were and still are the greatest guitarist I've yet to hear. I have all of your albums from Cricklewood Green on up, and I've yet to tire of listening to them. If by some quirk of fate you read this think seriously about a concert in Kamloops British Columbia. We would love to hear your sound again live, and I speak for every Rock'n'Roll fan from here to Vancouver. I'm 34yrs old now, but my first true experience with a girl at the age of 14yrs old was was mutiplied many times with the sound of your voice and the exceedingly prowess of your guitar playing in the background. It's a memory I'll never forget nor want to. Peace to you Alvin; Sincerely David Naylor.

Heiko Gross <henrygro@hotmail.com> -- 04/01/98 -- 10:00:04

My Dad showed me 5 years ago a tape of Ten Years After. And I start to listen more often to Ten Years After. 2 years ago I started playing guitar and now I'm learning so much I can from Alvin Lee. My favourite song is "Love like a man" but all the other are pretty damn good. I hope you guys come to Germany after June, 98. Because I'm right now an exchange student in Kansas. Kansas is sucks. But I have my Gibson here and practice alot. Thanks for your good tabs.

Sharon <scotone@bellsouth.net> -- 03/31/98 -- 20:38:08

I was first introduced to TYA by friends who had just returned from serving in Thailand. The songs on Positive Vibrations meant so much to them and through them to me. Even today when I listen the words ring so true to the past and the present.Maybe the hall of fame would be a great accomplishment and honor, but I think the real accomplishment is that through their music they helped some guys who saw some really bad things to maintain and give themselves some "Positive Vibrations". Carry on guys.

thomas thornhill <tomthorn@flash.net> -- 03/28/98 -- 16:47:19

Chris Hoyt <chh@securedoc.com> -- 03/17/98 -- 10:02:07

My brother turned me on to Ten Years After when he returned from Vietnam. The first album I heard and still have today was the incomparable "Cricklewood Green." Man, I wish they would go on tour in Florida. What a band!

Curly Bill Bruehl <curlybil@conch.net> -- 03/10/98 -- 10:29:33

We want a' ROCK! When are you coming to the Southern Florida Keys Or South Florida. I saw you in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania a long time back. It might have been with Dr. John. I think the early '70s. I'd like another chance to hear you play. Later man, keep on Rockin'!

Jim Sheridan <jimsheridan@yahoo.com> -- 03/08/98 -- 12:52:57

Great site!! Does anyone have any tapes from the ALvin Lee/Mick Taylor 1981 tour to trade? I have one, Paris 12/11/81 I thin is the date. Has anyone heard the version of "I'm Goin' Home" by Zephyr on Zephyr: Live yet? Outstanding!!!! Jim

joe <joeytg@aol.com> -- 03/05/98 -- 10:57:25

Great sight!! Didn't realize there were so many TYA/AL fans out there. Hi all! Saw TYA reunion concert at the old, uptown ritz in NYC around '85. Then caught AL late '80's at a small club in Asbury Park, NJ. Both shows were totally awesome. Still a huge fan. Anyone know where i can get '73 On The Road To Freedom" with alvin & mylon Le Fevre album. Lost it years ago. Please email with any info. Thanks!!

My husband is a great fan of tya and would love to know when they will tour the chicagoland area. We've tried to see Alvin Lee twice, and both shows were cancelled (Hartford, Wi & Chicago). He's quite anxious for me to experience Alvin Lee.

jaap looman <joker@globalxs.nl> -- 03/02/98 -- 12:11:01

SsssssssHHHHHHHHHHH

Paul <paul sylvain@worldnet.att.net> -- 02/28/98 -- 20:25:26

I first saw Alvin Lee and TYA at London's Royal Albert Hall in early May 1969, where they appeared with Jethro Tull and an unknown and long-since forgotten band called Clouds. As a guitar player in my own right, I was blown away. I was fortunate to see the band four more times between then and March 1973, all in Berlin, Germany. The concerts included the Berlin Superfest, which featured TYA with: Procol Harem, when Robin Trower was with the group; Canned Heat, on the same day they found Alan "Blind Owl" Wilson dead in California; and Jimi Hendrix, in what proved to be Jimi's last "live" concert. The group was always a class act, taking time to acknowledge their fans. Some years later, as a working reporter with a Maine daily newspaper, I met Alvin backstage before an appearance at Bangor Auditorium. He was heading Ten Years Later, then, and the audience was small. But Alvin and crew came out and burned the house down. I've played guitar for more than 30 years now and Alvin's influence on my style is hard to miss. Only a handful of guitarists have ever made me stop and take notice, and Alvin stands at the head of the class. He is truly an original. Alvin and TYA deserve induction in the Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Fame. They've paid their dues and their influence on a generation of blues-based rockers cannot be overlooked. Rock On.

Jim SHeridan <jimsheridan@yahoo.com> -- 02/28/98 -- 20:23:35

ANyone who likes Ten Years After should check out the CD "ZEPHYR: LIVE" - it features the very amazing Tommy Bolin who does apretty great "I'm Going Home." His playing on "LIVE AT EBBETS FIELD 1974" is amazing too. I see a lot of similarities between his playing and ALvin Lee's at that point. Any Bolin fans out there?

Steve Kirkpatrick <skirk456@aol.com> -- 02/26/98 -- 13:44:32

TYA should definately be in the R & R Hall of Fame. Great songwriting, great playing. I rank "A Space In Time" as one of the all time great albums put out at that time.

Owen O'Connor <ooconnor@hotmail.com> -- 02/24/98 -- 04:41:50

Did you know that Alvin Lee guested on the Jerry Lee Lewis London Sessions album. The musical director was Albert Lee visit the unofficial Albert Lee site at http://homepage.tinet.ie/~johnwoconnor/albertlee

Dave rennolds <DRennolds@aol.com> -- 02/22/98 -- 04:55:14

I saw TYA 29 years ago. Nobody has the technical ability of Alvin Lee, Clapton is sweet and Hendrix was weird but none can play like Alvin Lee.

Vincent L. <vlaberge@yahoo.com> -- 02/16/98 -- 14:14:18

I LOVE TYA AND I WOULD LOVE TO FIND THE FOLLOWING ALBUMS: 1)LET IT ROCK 2) ROCKET FUEL 3)ON THE ROAD TO FREEDOM 4) IN FLIGHT IF ANYONE OUT THERE HAS ANY OF THESE ALBUMS AND WOULD BE WILLING TO MAKE A COPY FOR ME THAT WOULD BE GREAT. OTHERWISE IF ANYONE CAN TELL ME HOW TO GET A HOLD OF THEM, PLEASE LET ME KNOW. MY FAVORITE ALBUM IS ROCK & ROLL MUSIC TO THE WORLD, AND I LOVE POSITIVE VIBRATIONS TOO........HELL EVERY ALBUM ROCKS. I WOULD LOVE TO SEE TEN YEARS AFTER IN WINNIPEG BUT IT PROBABLY WON'T HAPPEN, BUT WHAT CAN YOU DO.

Peter <tay911@erols.com> -- 02/15/98 -- 13:49:37

Alvin Lee should definetly be in the Hall of Fame. He's still one of the faster players alive. But the notes just arn't fast, they have emotion. Not just "look how fast I play". I'd love to see him do Crossroads, thats right up his ally. There just arn't to many like him, great guitarist and singer. I think that gets over looked. He sings his ass off sometimes. Nice site and the Tab for going Home is great. Im a guitarist and have been in a band for years. Ive messed with the song but never got it quite right. Thanks for the forem. Im Going Home. Pete

I've been a longtime fan of Alvin Lee and Ten Years After. Saw them in concert in the early 70's in the NYC area 3 times. The best was a soccer field in the Bronx called Gallic Park at the height of his I'm Going Home days. My first good guitar was an ES335 in homage to Alvin Lee. Unfortunately I'm as slow as molasses (Unlike Alvin) on guitar but that leads me to the rest of the blues.

ALVIN IS STILL THE BEST. KEEP ON ROCKING YOUNG MAN.

jim Smith <videorock@aol.com> -- 01/16/98 -- 09:55:27

As a fan for many years, I am happy to have found a home page to one of the most overlooked blues guitarists. I live in NY and first caught TYA in the woodstock film and was totally blown away by his performance. I saw TYA's last performance at the Fillmore East. I saw them perform at Madison Square Garden where I sat in the Orchestra. There was a giant video screen above the band showing closeups during the performance. I also saw them perform at , I think it was called Roosevelt Field in the Bronx. And lastly I saw Alvin Lee & company at the Accademy of music oor whatever the venue was named at the time on 14th street in NYC. While I'd Love To Change The world is one of my favorite LP's, I believe SHHHHHH and notabally Two time Mamma is a gem of an album. Stone Temple Piolets and Alice in Chains quite possibly listened to that album. And if it's the blues you want Undead ant their version of" good morning little schoolgirl is a killer. If anyone has Tab from SHHHHH e-mail me.TYA should be featured in the Guitar Mags

John <john.fietkiewicz@snet.net> -- 01/13/98 -- 15:42:00

I think Alvin is cool. He is my dads HERO. HE wakes up every morning and screams ALVIN,and then plays the air guitar. He took me and my friends to see him at the ventura theatre it was a great show. We also belong to the fan mail. You are doing a good job.

I'm a big fan of Ten Years After. The first time I saw them live in 1970 and have seen them 4 times since. Alvin just blew me away.

It's great to visit the Alvin Lee site. I'm still hoping to see Alvin live in Holland once. My friends son (his name is Alvin (Dirksen)!!)plays the guitar like hell and the best thing that could happen is that Alvin Lee and Alvin Dirsen could play together the blues. Best regards, Hans
